چکیده

We provide sufficient optimality conditions for optimal control problems with bang-bang controls. Building on a structural assumption on the adjoint state, we additionally need a weak second-order condition. This second-order condition is formulated with functions from an extended critical cone, and it is equivalent to a formulation posed on measures supported on the set where the adjoint state vanishes. If our sufficient optimality condition is satisfied, we obtain a local quadratic growth condition in L1(Ω).

Equivalence of second order optimality conditions for bang – bang control problems

Second order optimality conditions have been derived in the literature in two different forms. Osmolovskii (1988a, 1995, 2000, 2004) obtained second order necessary and sufficient conditions requiring that a certain quadratic form be positive (semi)-definite on a critical cone. Agrachev, Stefani, Zezza (2002) first reduced the bang-bang control problem to finite-dimensional optimization and the...

Modeling of Jitter Characteristics for the Second Order Bang-Bang CDR

Bang-Bang clock and data recovery (BBCDR) circuits are hard nonlinear systems due to the nonlinearity introduced by the binary phase detector (BPD). The specification of the CDR frequency response is determined by jitter tolerance and jitter transfer. In this paper, jitter transfer and jitter tolerance of the second-order BBCDR are characterized by formulating the time domain waveforms. As a re...

Second order optimality conditions for bang – bang control problems

Second order necessary and sufficient optimality conditions for bang–bang control problems have been studied in Milyutin, Osmolovskii (1998). These conditions amount to testing the positive (semi–)definiteness of a quadratic form on a critical cone. The assumptions are appropriate for numerical verification only in some special cases. In this paper, we study various transformations of the quadr...

Second Order Sufficient Optimality Conditions for a Control Problem with Continuous and Bang-Bang Control Components: Riccati Approach

Second order sufficient optimality conditions for bang-bang control problems in a very general form have been obtained in [15, 21, 13, 12, 1]. These conditions require the positive definiteness (coercivity) of an associated quadratic form on the finite-dimensional critical cone. In the present paper, we investigate similar conditions for optimal control problems with a control variable having t...

Solution of Bang-Bang Optimal Control Problems by Using Bezier Polynomials

In this paper, a new numerical method is presented for solving the optimal control problems of Bang-Bang type with free or fixed terminal time. The method is based on Bezier polynomials which are presented in any interval as $[t_0,t_f]$. The problems are reduced to a constrained problems which can be solved by using Lagrangian method. The constraints of these problems are terminal state and con...
